Fraxel-DualFraxel Dual: Thulium 1927 nm : Erbium Glass 1550nm

Fraxel DUAL 1550/1927 targets aging and sun-damaged skin with microscopic columns that penetrate deep into your skin causing your body to create new collagen.

Non-Ablative Skin Resurfacing For:

  • Photopigmentation (sun spots)
  • Melasma
  • Actinic Keratoses
  • Acne and Surgical scars
  • Fine lines  and wrinkles

Each component of Fraxel Dual can be used alone or in combination for non-ablative skin resurfacing. Fraxel Dual creates thousands of microscopic treatment zones extending into the dermis; the depth and width of the microscopic treatment zones (MTZs) can be varied, between 5-49% of the skin surface can be treated at one time, Thulium or Erbium lasers can be used alone or in combination.

Superficial Pigmented Lesions:

Thulium is selectively absorbed by superficial pigmented cells, giving dramatic results with one treatment. There is a darkening of the treated pigmented cells over the first 2 days, followed by a mild flaking (the Weekend Peel), which leaves the treated area fresh and glowing within 4-5 days.

Actinic Keratoses

Actinic Keratoses

Thulium has also been cleared for treatment of superficial actinic keratoses (3-5 treatments)

Melasma

The Erbium laser 1550nm treats much deeper layers of the skin including conditions such as:

  • Melasma (average 4 treatments)
  • Moderate lines and wrinkles (4-6 treatments required)
  • Remodelling of surgical scars (3-4 treatments)
  • Acne scars (5-6 treatments, comparable to Affirm 1320nm)
  • It is safe for all skin types 1-6 including very dark skin types (Affirm 1320 treats 1-5)

Fraxel 1550 vs. fractional CO2 Resurfacing

Fraxel 1550 nm Erbium laser penetrates to a depth equivalent to fractional CO2 resurfacing, (without the ablation causing no open lesions, and less downtime) It will treat moderate lines and wrinkles over multiple sessions and can be used for all skin types.

Note: Persons with loose, baggy skin, deeper wrinkles or pitting acne scars,  who are skin types 1-4, fractional CO2 resurfacing will give faster and better results, but with more downtime.
